Located beneath Ambar in Arlington, Baba is an edgy basement bar functioning as a coffee shop by day and a cocktail bar by night. In addition to serving tasty Balkan fare for lunch and dinner, the eatery offers unlimited “Fun Brunching” on the weekends, which consists of a made-from-scratch brunch buffet for $34 per person. Enjoy homemade pastries, oatmeal bowls, soup, salads, and sandwiches along with made-to-order dishes, such as Balkan Eggs with sautéed vegetables and Smoked Salmon Crepes. On weekday evenings, check out their Happy Hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for $6 cocktails and a variety of $5 small bites, such as Roasted Cauliflower with creamy eggplant puree and Pork Belly Sliders.
Baba has an eclectic vibe with a bright tiled floor and mirrored ceiling panes that bounce off light. Mismatched chairs and a quirky wall of gold-framed portraits provide a fun, inviting atmosphere. The 56-seat space also boasts a gas fireplace along with rustic design elements, such as exposed brick, vintage molding, and salvaged wood.
